WomenNC

WomenNC is an organization originating from the United Nations Commission on Status of Women (CSW) and the United Nations International Treaty Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

The organization's goals are:

• • To attract and motivate North Carolina college students to be engaged in social justice movement activities with a focus on gender equality
• • To provide the opportunity for college and university students to be introduced to the United Nations, and introduce North Carolina's best practices as it relates to women and girls' human rights
• • To introduce global status of women from annual United Nations' Women Conference (CSW) to North Carolina
• • To portray North Carolina as a more attractive place to live, both socially and economically, on a global level
• • To support the ratification of international treaties as it relates to women's human rights
• • To support new legislation and amendments to existing legislation in North Carolina and the U.S., as it relates to women's human rights
