The National Council of Women is the oldest, non-sectarian volunteer organization of women in America. A coalition of organizations and individuals dedicated to the realization of full participation by women in every aspect of society. Today, the council works for the education, participation and advancement of women to make equality a national obligation.

The NCW/US is an accredited Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the Department of Public Information (UN/DPI) and in Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (UN/ECOSOC) of the United Nations.

Through this affiliation they are able to have a positive impact on the world stage, while at the same time staying committed to advancing pressing women's issues at the local level in the United States.
